About me

Coming on a trip to Marrakech in 2000, fascinated by the medina, Valérie Baradat decided to settle there and began to walk the streets in search of riads.  In Medina, its real estate agency, specialized in riads and traditional houses of charm, is the fruit of this field experience.

Until 2008, prices soared (+20% per year). The subprime crisis in the United States, then the crisis in Europe, and in parallel the fear of a destabilization of Morocco (Arab Spring and Daesh attacks) generate a drop in tourist visitation and a real estate crisis. Prices are going down.

2017 marks the return of the confidence of foreign investors, who then make excellent business.  In 2018, the attraction for Marrakech is once again asserting itself and stronger than ever. A new real estate explosion seems to be looming.

Over the last eighteen years, the medina has continued to evolve. Large public projects are attacking the electricity, water, and wastewater networks, then the cobblestones in the alleys and now the repair of all the shopping streets. The city has been redesigned, remodeled, embellished. It is adapting to new challenges and is ready for the new spikes in attendance that are coming.

The medina has become ultra trendy but it has preserved its authenticity: its narrow streets, hammams, bread ovens, grocers, artisans, merchants, historic buildings, smells, colors.

Foreigners, but also (and this is quite new), a young generation of Moroccans, affirm their talents in fashion, design, services and open new concepts: creative groupings, concept stores, restaurants, that meet the expectations of an increasingly connected international clientele.

We are ready for this new stage and this new craze!
